Hareniwa no Yu in Kumagaya: A Bathhouse You Can Settle Into

Hareniwa no Yu is a 23-hour bath and lounge in Kumagaya with comics, coworking and dining. Choose it for a long stay, not for natural-spring water.

Ofuro Cafe Hareniwa no Yu stays open for 23 hours and pairs its baths with comics, coworking, board games and places to eat or stretch out. Its current official pages do not identify a natural hot-spring source. Think of it as a bath-and-lounge stay, not a destination for spring water.

What the extra time buys

The facility lists about 8,000 comics and a mix of shared spaces: a “Gorogoro Room” for lying back, reading or board games; a cafe lounge where food can be ordered; and both free and paid coworking areas. A July 2026 update also describes a quieter tatami space and a children’s play area inside the restaurant.

The mix suits a group with different plans: someone can read while another works, then they can meet for a meal. It is a shared bathhouse and lounge, so quieter rooms may be busy and the overall space is not library-quiet.

Choose the admission that matches your clock

Adult admissionWeekday priceWeekend/public holiday
60 minutes¥680+¥100
90 minutes¥880+¥100
120 minutes¥1,080+¥100
Free time¥1,580+¥200
Morning bath, 5–9 a.m.¥680+¥100

Free-time admission runs from 10 a.m. to 9 a.m. the next day and includes facility clothing, but not towels; rental is ¥380. Timed and morning-bath tickets do not include either clothing or towels. Reception for timed courses ends at 1 a.m., while the facility’s listed closing time for that course is 2 a.m. Special-date pricing may differ.

For an hour in the baths and a quick meal, a timed ticket keeps the cost down. The free-time rate is easier to justify if you expect to use the lounge, books or coworking space for several hours. Bedrock bathing is not listed as a separate admission product on the current price page.

Overnight does not mean sleeping in the bath area

The baths close for cleaning from 2–5 a.m. Guests staying into that window pay a ¥1,540 overnight surcharge, but cannot bathe during those hours. If you only need an early wash before travelling, the morning-bath admission begins at 5 a.m.; last reception is 8:30 a.m., and the ticket does not include towels or facility clothing.

For an actual place to rest, the facility offers paid nap booths from 6 p.m. to 9 a.m. Each booth is for one person, with power, a reading light and Wi-Fi; female-only booths are available. Guests under 18 and high-school students cannot use the paid booths, even with a guardian. Private tatami rooms are a separate paid booking and accommodate up to four people.

Getting there, and a rule to check first

JR Kagohara Station is about 20 minutes away on foot (1.6 km). From Kumagaya Station, the operator lists a bus ride of about 35 minutes to Takayanagi, then a five-minute walk. For a late stay, check the return train before deciding when to leave; the facility’s long opening hours do not mean trains run through the night. The details and alternatives are laid out in the Kumagaya no-car onsen guide.

Hareniwa states that guests with tattoos are not admitted. If that affects your group, confirm the rule before setting out. For a comparison with Kumagaya’s natural-spring facilities, use the day-use bath overview.
