Kagetsu is a higher-priced ryokan bath, and the visit is easiest to plan by choosing one of its two windows first. The inn association’s current listing gives an adult rate of ¥2,750, with a morning session from 8 to 11 am and an afternoon/evening session from 3 to 9 pm. There is no listed day-use period between 11 am and 3 pm.
What changes between the two sessions
The morning window is only three hours. It fits best if you are already staying nearby or driving through Isawa, with another stop planned for midday. Build in time to change, wash and dry off; the full three hours is not all bath time.
The later window gives you more room to use the large rock bath, outdoor bath and sauna. Kagetsu’s grounds are known for their arranged stones, pond and garden, so the longer session makes more sense if you want time outside the bath as well. It is still worth checking your train home before staying through the evening.
Confirm the current details with the hotel
The current inn-association listing and Kagetsu’s February 2025 opening notice disagree on the start times. The older hotel notice quotes a pre-tax rate and says sauna use is included; advance reservations were not accepted.
