Atami Day-Use Onsen: Four Baths for Different Schedules and Budgets

Compare Ocean Spa Fuua, Hotel New Akao, KKR Hotel Atami and Premium Atami by hours, station access, bath variety and price.

Checked: September 28, 2026

Atami has neighborhood bathhouses and many hotel baths, so these four are not the cheapest options in town. They are useful to compare because each solves a different day-trip problem: a half-day spa, a multi-bath visit, a quick stop near the station, or an awkward arrival time.

FacilityAdult admissionDay-use windowBest reason to choose it
Ocean Spa Fuua¥3,080 weekdays; ¥3,410 weekends/holidays10 a.m.–10 p.m.; last entry 9 p.m.Full spa stay, sea views and a lounge; towels and robes included
Hotel New Akao¥2,500 weekdays; ¥3,000 weekends/holidays1–6 p.m.; last entry 5 p.m.One ticket covers three baths supplied by different on-site springs; towels included
KKR Hotel Atami¥1,800Usually 11 a.m.–8 p.m.About a seven-minute walk from Atami Station
Premium Atami¥1,600 weekdays; ¥2,000 weekends/holidays7–10 a.m. and 3 p.m.–midnight; last reception 10 p.m.The clearest early and late bathing windows

Fuua adds a ¥150 bathing tax for adults. Its After 8 ticket excludes the Atami Living lounge. The facility is closed September 28–29, 2026; the observation sauna is scheduled to reopen in mid-December, and the source-flow outdoor bath on October 17. Weekend and special-day prices are set to rise when the sauna reopens; check the current price page before visiting.

Fuua: pay for time to linger

Fuua is the strongest fit if you want more than a bath before catching a train. Admission includes a robe and towel rental, and the facility has a sea-facing standing bath, indoor baths, a cold-water spring, sauna and lounge areas.

TicketPrice / inclusion
Standard adult, weekday¥3,080 plus ¥150 bathing tax; robe and towel rental included
After 8, weekday¥1,110 plus ¥150 bathing tax; bathing only, lounge excluded

The After 8 ticket excludes the main third- and fourth-floor lounge.

As of September 28, 2026, Fuua is closed for two days. Once it reopens, construction will affect particular facilities: the observation sauna is offline until a planned mid-December reopening, and the source-flow outdoor bath is scheduled to return on October 17. The indoor baths, outdoor standing bath and cold-water spring are expected to remain available during the work. Confirm the notice if one of the closed areas is the reason for your visit. Children under four cannot enter; tattooed guests are not admitted.

New Akao: three baths, but allow time to move between them

Hotel New Akao’s day-use pass covers three public baths, each using a different on-site spring. Face and bath towels are included.

Day-use window1–6 p.m.
Namine opens1 p.m.
Sparium Nishiki opens2 p.m.
Saikai opens3 p.m.

Arriving at 1 p.m. does not mean all three baths are immediately available.

The property is spread across wings and levels, so a full circuit involves more walking than a single public bath. It makes most sense if comparing the separate baths is part of the appeal, or if you plan to combine bathing with lunch and time in the hotel. It is less convenient if you have limited mobility or only a short window before your train.

KKR Hotel Atami: the short walk is the advantage

KKR is about seven minutes on foot from Atami Station. Its regular adult day-use admission is ¥1,800, with bathing usually available from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. The property also lists an outdoor bath, a dry sauna and a cold bath. It is a practical last stop if you are already back near the station and do not want to coordinate a bus or resort shuttle.

Do not assume the full 11 a.m.–8 p.m. window applies every day. The hotel says it has cleaning days and that weekend, public-holiday and fireworks-day bathing ends at 3 p.m.; heavy-demand dates can also affect the price or admission. Its published spring analysis lists a 64.3°C source and sodium-calcium chloride water, but the same page gives both pH 6.6 and 7.1. That internal discrepancy is left unresolved rather than choosing one number.

Premium Atami: useful when your day starts early or ends late

Premium Atami has two day-use periods: 7–10 a.m. and 3 p.m.–midnight, with last reception at 10 p.m. Admission includes the consumption and bathing taxes; towels cost ¥330 to rent. The baths are a more conventional hotel-bath visit than Fuua’s lounge-oriented spa. The operator says the water is partly circulated and heated, so it should not be described as wholly source-flow.

Fireworks days have a much earlier cutoff: last admission at 7 p.m. and final exit at 7:45 p.m. Tattoos are normally not accepted, but the property allows entry when its paid cover seal completely hides them. This is a facility-specific exception, not a rule that applies at the other three baths.

For the overall trip decision, see the Atami day trip or overnight guide. It compares the town’s evening and transport trade-offs rather than ranking these baths.
