KAMENOI HOTEL Kusatsu Yubatake with Kids: Room Sizes, Bath Hours and Parking
KAMENOI Kusatsu Yubatake sleeps up to six in some rooms and has three spring sources; check bath closing hours, parking and private-bath limits.
The hotel’s location makes it easy to build a family stay around Yubatake and Sainokawara Park, while room categories range from a compact 23-square-metre room for up to three to a 38-square-metre Japanese-style room for up to six. The main trade-off is bathing privacy: families use the shared baths, and there is no confirmed private bath or in-room natural spring bath.
Match the room to the family, not just the guest count
For two adults and a child, the 31-square-metre Deluxe Japanese-Western room has two beds and space for a third guest on a futon. A 30-square-metre standard Japanese room sleeps up to four. Larger 14-tatami rooms are 38 square metres and can accommodate up to six, making them the straightforward option for a larger family or multigenerational group.
The 23-square-metre, six-tatami room also sleeps up to three, but it is a tighter fit when everyone has luggage. Room bathrooms are ordinary guest-room facilities; the hotel’s spring sources are in the shared bathing areas. Three springs, with a break in the overnight schedule
The large bath uses Sainokawara spring, the open-air bath uses Yubatake spring, and the cypress and rock baths use Bandai-kō. The bathing area is open from 3 pm to 9:30 am, but closes from midnight to 1 am for cleaning and the gender changeover. Guests cannot use the baths before check-in or after checkout.
For families, this means setting a time rather than assuming the bath is available whenever someone wakes up. The hotel’s child rates are age-based: elementary-school children are charged 70% of the adult rate, children aged three to six 50%, and children aged zero to two have a ¥1,650 facility fee when sharing without meals or bedding. Confirm the selected plan’s child rules before booking.
The Yubatake approach is about a three-minute walk through the hotel’s dedicated passage. Sainokawara Park is about a minute away, so the location can save repeated uphill walks with children. The bus terminal is farther away—around ten minutes on foot—and the hotel does not promise a general shuttle from the terminal.
If you’re driving this winter
The hotel has 25 on-site spaces, free for overnight guests. From August 25, 2026, through March 31, 2027, paving work at the second parking lot means some guests will be directed to a temporary lot. Follow the hotel’s instructions on arrival rather than heading straight for the usual overflow parking area. Check the current notice if you are travelling near the end of the project.
