Bath amenities at Rakusuien

Yumura is close to central Kofu, but “day-use bathing available” does not mean every inn accepts walk-ins at any hour. These three places publish useful terms, though their bathing windows are very different.

InnDay-use hoursAdult admissionBest reason to choose it
Kofu Kinenbi Hotel1 pm–10 pm¥1,500A late soak, larger public baths and an outdoor bath
Tsue Onsen Kobo-yuNoon–3 pm¥1,000, bathing tax includedA small inn bath and a source listed at about 39°C
Yumeshima no Sato Rakusuien1–6 pm, Wednesday–Monday¥1,000; ¥600 after a meal at its soba restaurantLunch and bathing in one stop

Rakusuien’s day-use hours can shift for cleaning, and its regular Tuesday closing may change. Day-use availability at the two inn baths can also depend on lodging operations; confirm with the property if your visit depends on them.

A late afternoon leaves one clear option

Kofu Kinenbi Hotel accepts day visitors from 1 pm to 10 pm. The current hot-spring page lists ¥1,500 for adults and ¥1,000 for elementary-school children, including tax and the bathing tax. The men’s and women’s baths each have indoor and outdoor bathing areas. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash are provided, but the hotel asks guests to bring the towels from their room only for overnight stays; day visitors should ask what towel options are available.

From Kofu Station’s south exit, take a Yamanashi Kotsu bus from stand 4 to Yumura Onsen Iriguchi. The hotel says it is about a ten-minute bus ride and a one-minute walk from the stop. That makes it the easiest of these three to use without arranging a taxi.

Kobo-yu is about the water, not a long list of facilities

Kobo-yu’s day-use slot is short: noon to 3 pm. The adult fee is ¥1,000 with the bathing tax included. Its official page identifies the spring as Jizō Onsen, a sodium-chloride spring at about 39°C. The men’s bath is a rock bath; the women’s is marble. The inn describes the water as source-flowing, but this is a small, traditional property rather than a sprawling spa.

There is no need to borrow the older figures sometimes repeated for Yumura’s shared sources: the inn’s own page gives the current traveler-facing description and does not publish a new full analysis sheet. If exact water-analysis figures matter, ask the inn directly. The ¥1,000 day-use entry does not include a guaranteed private-bath booking; contact Kobo-yu about private use before setting out.

At Rakusuien, lunch changes the arithmetic

Rakusuien charges ¥1,000 for adults and ¥700 for children aged three and up. Bathing costs ¥600 for adults and ¥500 for children when paired with a meal at its in-house soba restaurant, RakuSui. Towels cost extra.

The published bathing window is 1–6 pm, Wednesday through Monday. Tuesdays are normally closed.

Its current page lists a mildly alkaline sodium-chloride spring at pH 7.9 and says the water is heated to around 40°C. Indoor and outdoor baths are on the first floor of the Hōō wing. If you are coming by train, the inn puts Kofu Station about ten minutes away by taxi. The station shuttle is for overnight guests only, requires at least two people and a phone booking three days ahead; it is not a free ride for day visitors.

Which one fits the day?

After sightseeing that runs into the evening, Kofu Kinenbi is the practical pick. For a midday visit centered on a small inn bath, Kobo-yu has the clearest source description but the narrowest window. Rakusuien makes sense when you already want a soba meal and can arrive during its afternoon hours. For a neighborhood public bath in the city rather than a lodging property, see the Kofu sento guide; the Isawa day-bath comparison covers options farther east.
