Four Day-Use Hot Springs in Osaka: Compare Price, Time and Entry Rules
Compare four natural hot springs in Osaka: Naniwa no Yu, Nobeha Tsuruhashi, Solaniwa and Umekita Ren, including entry rules, towels and real costs.
| If your priority is… | Best fit | Adult starting price | Location |
|---|---|---|---|
| A lower-cost daytime bath, with your own towel | Naniwa no Yu | ¥900 weekdays; ¥1,000 weekends and holidays | About 10 minutes from Tenjinbashisuji-6chome Station |
| Staying late and using several baths and a sauna | Nobeha no Yu Tsuruhashi | ¥1,000 weekdays; ¥1,100 weekends and holidays | About 5 minutes from Tsuruhashi Station |
| A full half-day with yukata and garden spaces | Solaniwa Onsen | ¥2,460–¥3,780 including bath tax | Connected to Bentencho Station |
| A quick bath near Osaka Station—or an overnight wellness stay | Umekita Onsen Ren | ¥1,650 for a 60-minute bath | Grand Green Osaka South Building |
These are four different products, not interchangeable baths. Before picking one, check tattoos, children’s access and whether mixed-gender private bathing is allowed for your group. Solaniwa also has scheduled closure dates; its currently announced remaining 2026 closures include September 9, October 14, November 11 and December 9.
The lowest advertised price is not always the lowest practical cost. Naniwa’s weekday admission is ¥900, but it sells towels rather than renting them; buying both a small towel and a bath towel brings a towel-less visit to about ¥1,550. At Nobeha, the basic sauna is included, while towels add ¥360. Solaniwa’s regular ticket includes a yukata and towels, and Ren’s 60-minute bath ticket does not. Compare what you will actually use before choosing by headline price.
Naniwa no Yu: the straightforward daytime option
| Item | Current details |
|---|---|
| Hours | Weekdays 10:00–01:00; weekends and holidays 08:00–01:00; last entry at midnight |
| Adult admission | ¥900 weekdays; ¥1,000 weekends and holidays |
| Towels | Not included or rented; small towel ¥150, bath towel ¥500 |
Bring your own towels to keep the visit near the entry price.
The spring is listed as a sodium-chloride and bicarbonate spring with a source temperature of 35.3°C. The facility also says its baths may be heated, filtered and disinfected, so do not assume every tub has the same water or supply method. Tattoos, including stickers, paint and fake tattoos, are not accepted. Children below elementary-school age need an adult.
Nobeha no Yu Tsuruhashi: more bath time, with sauna included
| Item | Current details |
|---|---|
| Hours | 09:00–02:00; last entry at 01:00; stone-sauna area stops admitting guests at midnight |
| Standard admission | ¥1,000 weekdays; ¥1,100 weekends and holidays; includes public baths, outdoor baths and sauna |
| Towels | Small towel ¥180 to buy; bath towel ¥180 to rent |
| Medicinal-stone sauna | ¥1,080 weekdays; ¥1,180 weekends and holidays, including outfit and towel |
| Private family bath | 11 rooms; from ¥4,000 per hour |
This is the option for a longer evening.
The standing spring-water bath is listed around 32°C, the carbonated bath around 38°C, and the rock and pot baths around 41°C. These are bathing temperatures, not source temperatures.
The facility restricts mixed-gender use of the private baths to family members, so an unmarried couple should not assume they qualify. Tattoos, tattoo stickers and paint seals are not accepted, even if covered.
Solaniwa Onsen: decide between the ¥800 morning soak and a half-day visit

| Visit | Hours and adult price | What is included |
|---|---|---|
| Morning bath | 06:00–09:30; last entry 08:30, bathing until 09:00; ¥800 from September 2026, cash only | Fifth-floor public baths and vending machines only; no sauna, cold bath, restaurant, stone sauna, garden or yukata |
| Regular visit | 11:00–23:00; last entry 22:00; ¥2,460–¥3,780 including bath tax, depending on the day | Yukata, bath towel, small towel and basic toiletries |
Some baths close on a fixed weekday schedule; the source-water bath is closed on Friday mornings.
The regular visit makes more sense if you plan to use the garden, shared lounge or other spaces rather than just take a quick soak.
The listed source temperature is 43.2°C; the source bath is described as unheated, undiluted and non-circulating. Carbonated baths are around 37–38°C. Private outdoor baths start at ¥8,800 for 90 minutes, with admission charged separately. Mixed-gender use is for family members; booking a private room alone does not make it available to every couple.
Umekita Onsen Ren: a short Osaka Station stop or an overnight stay
Ren is in the South Building of Grand Green Osaka and has operated 24 hours since March 21, 2026. The public baths close for cleaning at different times by gender: 02:00–03:00 for men and 04:00–06:00 for women.
| Option | Price and duration | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| Bath only | ¥1,650 for 60 minutes | Towels, robe and amenities not included |
| Add sauna access | ¥1,320 weekdays; ¥1,650 weekends and holidays | Added to the bath-only visit |
| Basic plan, app member | ¥2,970 weekdays; ¥3,520 weekends and holidays | Up to 12 hours |
| Basic plan, regular rate | ¥3,190 weekdays; ¥3,740 weekends and holidays | Up to 12 hours |
| Stay beyond the plan | Additional ¥2,970 | Applies after the 12-hour plan |
| Overnight fee | Usually ¥1,100 from midnight to 05:00 | Anniversary promotions are date-limited, not a permanent waiver |
Towels, robe and amenities are not included with the bath-only ticket.
The natural spring water comes from Kobe’s Minato Onsen No. 2 source, not from beneath Osaka Station. The listed source temperature is 33.7°C; the facility does not give that as the bath temperature. Children under 12 cannot enter, and visitors under 18 need an adult. Tattoos are only allowed if fully concealed with up to four of the facility’s specified 11.4 × 20 cm cover patches.
Tattoos, children and private bathing
The entry rules can rule out a facility before price does. Naniwa no Yu and Nobeha do not admit tattooed guests, including covered tattoos. Solaniwa allows entry only when every tattoo is fully hidden by its cover seals; Ren permits up to four specified 11.4 × 20 cm patches, also with complete coverage. Ren does not admit children under 12 at all, and guests under 18 must meet its adult-accompaniment rules.
Private baths at Nobeha and Solaniwa do not automatically mean that an unmarried mixed-gender couple can bathe together. Both facilities restrict mixed-gender use to family members. Naniwa has no main private-bath product. Ren sells separate private-room bath and sauna plans, but those are additional products, not part of the 60-minute entry ticket.
Keep source temperatures separate from bathing temperatures
Only compare like with like: Naniwa lists a spring source at 35.3°C, Solaniwa at 43.2°C and Ren’s Kobe source at 33.7°C. Nobeha’s approximately 32°C standing bath, 38°C carbonated bath and 41°C rock and pot baths are pool-use temperatures. Solaniwa’s carbonated bath is around 37–38°C. A source temperature does not tell you the temperature of every tub, and a bath reading is not a spring analysis.
For a short daytime soak, compare Naniwa’s entry price with Ren’s 60-minute ticket and remember the towel costs. For a morning-only bargain, Solaniwa’s ¥800 bath is the cheapest listed option, but several facilities are closed. Nobeha is the clearest fit for a long evening with sauna included. Solaniwa’s regular ticket is the one to choose when the garden and shared spaces are part of the plan.
For a private outdoor soak, check Solaniwa’s availability and the family-only mixed-bathing rule before booking. If your priority is a full day or an overnight reset near Osaka Station, Ren’s Basic plan covers a longer stay and wellness facilities, but the midnight fee can change the total. If tattoos cannot be fully covered or someone in the group is under 12, choose another option rather than assume an exception.
