Solaniwa Onsen Osaka: Tickets, Morning Bath and Private Rooms
Compare Solaniwa Onsen’s full Osaka Bay Tower visit with its ¥800 morning bath, which excludes the sauna, garden, rock baths and yukata.
Solaniwa sits inside Osaka Bay Tower, connected to Bentencho Station. It is easy to reach, but the ticket is a different proposition from a neighbourhood sento: admission includes a yukata, towels and basic bath amenities, and the building has a garden, footbath, restaurants and lounges alongside the hot-spring baths. Give it roughly half a day if you want to use more than the bath.
Pick the visit that fits your morning or afternoon
| Visit | Current price and timing | What to keep in mind |
|---|---|---|
| Regular admission | Adults ¥2,310–¥3,630, depending on ticket date; 11 a.m.–11 p.m. | The bath closes at 10:30 p.m.; last entry is 10 p.m. Adult admission from ¥1,501 is subject to Osaka City’s ¥150 bathing tax. |
| Evening admission | ¥1,980 on A/B dates or ¥2,420 on C dates after 5 p.m. | There is no evening rate on D/E dates, and the bath still closes at 10:30 p.m. |
| Morning bath | ¥800 per person, 6–9:30 a.m.; last entry 8:30 a.m. | The public bath is available until 9 a.m. Cash only; no bathing tax or yukata. |
| Rock-bath add-on | ¥1,100 on A/B days; ¥1,320 on C/D/E days | This is an extra charge on top of admission and the applicable bathing tax. |
Ticket types change by date, so check the official calendar before budgeting. Children aged four through elementary school pay ¥1,320 for regular admission; children under four enter free. Guests aged 70 or older pay ¥1,800 with proof of age. The standard ticket includes a bath towel, face towel, yukata and listed toiletries.
The morning ticket covers only the fifth-floor public bath and vending machines; the sauna, rock-bath area, restaurants and garden are closed, and no yukata is provided. The sauna and cold bath are unavailable every morning. One bath is also closed for cleaning on weekdays:
| Day | Bath closed for cleaning |
|---|---|
| Monday | Alternate bath and silk bath |
| Tuesday | Outdoor sleeping bath and rock baths |
| Wednesday | Garden-view bath |
| Thursday | Carbonated bath |
| Friday | Source bath |
| Saturday–Sunday | No bath listed for cleaning |
Morning admission is suspended on Solaniwa’s closure day and the following day. Its currently published closure calendar runs through March 2027; check the facility page again before an early start.
What the hot-spring label covers
Solaniwa draws a natural spring from about 1,000 metres underground. The facility describes it as a simple, weakly alkaline, high-temperature spring. Its source certificate lists 43.2°C; that is the source temperature, not a promise that each bath is held at 43.2°C.
The facility specifically identifies its outdoor source bath as free-flowing spring water. It describes other baths, including the outdoor rock and reclining baths, as filtered and circulated. That distinction matters if you are choosing a bath for its water system rather than the garden setting. The garden-view bath looks over a Japanese garden of roughly 1,000 tsubo, though the view is not available at every hour.
The standard visit is also a good fit for mixed-interest groups: one person can head for the baths while others spend time in the garden, footbath, dining areas or lounges. If you mainly want a quick wash and soak, a lower-cost neighbourhood bathhouse will usually be a better use of the evening.
Rock baths and private outdoor baths are separate purchases
Rock-bath access is an add-on to admission. The heated rooms have different room temperatures; those are separate from the spring-water temperature.
| Ticket calendar | Rock-bath add-on |
|---|---|
| A/B days | ¥1,100 |
| C/D/E days | ¥1,320 |
The ten private outdoor-bath rooms comprise seven standard rooms, two larger tatami rooms and one room with a tent sauna. Each booking starts with 90 minutes; admission is charged separately.
| Room type | 90 minutes | Each 30-minute extension |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | From ¥8,800 | From ¥2,750 |
| Special Japanese-style room | From ¥12,100 | From ¥3,850 |
| Tent-sauna room | From ¥15,400 | From ¥5,500 |
Extensions and rooms are subject to availability.
For two adults booking the least expensive room on an A day, the fixed minimum is ¥8,800 for the room, ¥4,620 for admission and ¥300 in bathing tax: ¥13,720 before food or other extras. Mixed-gender use is limited to family members—such as spouses, parents and children, siblings or blood relatives—or same-sex guests. An unmarried mixed-gender couple should not assume a private room is eligible just because it is private.
Tattoos and late arrival
Solaniwa’s tattoo page says admission is generally refused, but guests may enter and bathe if every visible tattoo can be completely covered with the facility’s own cover seals. There is no stated limit on the number of seals. Tattoos visible above a yukata must also be covered inside the building. The policy is conditional, so ask the facility first if the placement or size makes full coverage uncertain.
Regular admission runs 11 a.m.–11 p.m., with last entry at 10 p.m. Closing times vary by area:
| Area | Closes | Last admission / reception |
|---|---|---|
| Public bath, garden and footbath | 10:30 p.m. | Public bath: 10 p.m. |
| Rock-bath area | 10 p.m. | 9 p.m. |
| Private baths | 10 p.m. | 8 p.m. |
Arriving near closing leaves little time for the garden, lounges or dining areas included in the full-visit experience.
Getting there
The address is 1-2-3 Benten, Minato Ward. JR and Osaka Metro Bentencho stations connect to Osaka Bay Tower, so the route does not require a separate bus or long walk. Drivers can use the building’s underground car park; Solaniwa’s access information lists a two-hour parking benefit for eligible guests who show their parking ticket. Check the facility’s conditions, as not every hotel or restaurant offer necessarily qualifies.
If you are comparing larger bath complexes, see the Osaka day-onsen guide. For a less expensive sento stop, the Osaka sento guide covers a different kind of visit.
