Umekita Onsen Ren in Osaka: 60-Minute Bath, Day Pass or Overnight?
Compare Umekita Onsen Ren’s 60-minute bath ticket with its 12-hour plan, including sauna, pool access, late-night entry and Osaka Station access.
Umekita Onsen Ren is on floors 3 and 4 of the South Building at Grand Green Osaka, next to Osaka Station’s Umekita underground exit. The draw is the combination of a natural hot spring, separate saunas, a 25-metre indoor pool, gym and lounge spaces in a central location. It is a sizeable wellness facility, so the ticket matters more than the headline “24 hours.”

The bath-only ticket is meant for a short soak; the operator caps that visit at 60 minutes. Compare the sauna add-on total with Basic before choosing.
The spring is brought in from Kobe
The operator identifies the source as Kobe Minato Onsen No. 2, not a well beneath Umeda. Its published analysis gives a source temperature of 33.7°C and classifies it as a sodium-bicarbonate/chloride spring. The bathing area also has carbonated and other functional baths. If local groundwater or a source-fed bathing method is the reason for your visit, check the facility’s water-treatment description rather than reading “Umekita” as the source location.
What the 24-hour schedule does—and does not—mean
The facility is open 24 hours, but individual areas keep their own schedules. The men’s public bath closes for cleaning from 2:00 to 3:00 a.m.; the women’s closes from 4:00 to 6:00 a.m. Some paid areas, food services and pools also have separate hours. A deep-night visit needs a little route planning: the South Building’s B1 entrance is unavailable from 12:30 to 6:00 a.m., so follow the operator’s late-night directions rather than assuming the station-side entrance stays open.
The posted Basic rate includes the bath, sauna, gym and indoor pool, with towels and loungewear. Outdoor pool, stone and lava baths, treatments and private rooms may involve separate charges. The facility is for guests aged 12 and over; anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult who is not a high-school student.
Tattoo policy and private bathing
Entry is generally refused to guests with tattoos. The exception is limited to fashion tattoos that can be completely concealed with up to four of the operator’s 114 × 200 mm cover stickers. If that will not cover every visible mark, choose another facility.
Public baths are separated by gender. The property also rents private bath-and-sauna rooms for groups of two to five, but those are a separate, premium product rather than an inexpensive shared couple’s bath. Check the current overnight and private-room price table before booking.

Hakuren and Seiren each include a bath, sauna, washroom and daybed. Published starting prices are per room:
| Private-suite booking | Weekday | Weekend or holiday |
|---|---|---|
| Two hours | ¥13,200 | ¥17,600 |
| Three hours | ¥19,800 | ¥26,400 |
These suites are a private-spa product, not a small upgrade to the shared bath ticket. The indoor 25-metre pool and gym are included with Basic; outdoor pool, stone and lava bathing, treatments and private suites have separate conditions or charges.
Ren’s address is Grand Green Osaka South Building, floors 3 and 4, 5-54 Ofukacho, Kita Ward. In daytime, the Umekita underground exit connects directly to the building. Between 12:30 a.m. and 6 a.m., that B1 passage is unavailable; use the operator’s Gate Lantern route and enter via the second floor. The South and North Building car parks stop entry and exit from midnight to 8 a.m., even though the spa stays open.
For a shorter outing elsewhere in the city, compare the Osaka day-onsen guide. Ren is easiest to justify when the Osaka Station location or several hours of its wellness facilities are part of the plan.
For a broader comparison, see the new-generation onsen guide for Japan, the Spa World guide or the explainer on how to read hot-spring water analyses.
