Noboribetsu Sekisuitei: Private Onsen Baths, Shuttle Buses and the Uphill Walk
Plan Sekisuitei’s five reservable private baths and Sapporo or New Chitose shuttle; the hotel is uphill from Noboribetsu’s bus terminal.
Sekisuitei is easiest to assess as a stay built around the hotel rather than the resort’s central street. Guests who plan to dine and bathe at the property may barely notice the distance; those expecting to wander into town several times a day should account for the slope, especially with luggage or winter footing.
Five private baths, but they are not in the guest rooms
The hotel lists five reservable private hot-spring baths in the Sakura building’s basement relaxation area. Each session lasts 50 minutes and costs ¥3,300 per room; current published hours are 3 p.m.–11 p.m. The private rooms provide exclusive use of a natural sulfur spring. They are shared hotel facilities booked for a time slot, not baths attached to the guest room.
That distinction matters when choosing a room. The official room page lists Japanese-Western rooms, Japanese-style rooms, Western-style rooms and relaxation rooms with massage chairs, but does not identify any of them as having a private natural onsen. Book the private bath separately if you need to bathe together; confirm availability before you build your evening around it.

Admission and private-bath fees are separate. An advance reservation changes the admission rate, not the room price.
Plan around the shuttle, not the terminal walk

Seats are limited and must be reserved in advance. Flights do not delay the bus; the hotel may cancel or replace a service if too few guests reserve seats.
If you arrive by local bus at Noboribetsu Onsen Terminal, the hotel describes the remaining route as an uphill walk of about 15 minutes, or a taxi ride. Some local buses use a closer footbath-area stop, but not every service does. Check the exact stop and walking route for your departure time. Room choice is mostly about space and how you travel
The official room page lists Japanese-Western rooms for up to five guests, Japanese-style rooms across three buildings, Western-style double or twin rooms, and a relaxation-room category in the Ginkgo building with massage chairs. None of those listings promises an in-room natural hot-spring bath. The natural onsen is in the shared bathing facilities or the separately booked private rooms.
If you will use the hotel’s private bath once, a standard room can be enough. The relaxation room is a space upgrade, not a different spring-water experience. Families should enter children’s actual ages when checking a plan, since room occupancy and meal arrangements depend on the selected offer.
The public bathing area uses the hotel’s sulfur spring. The hotel lists day-use access from 5–9 a.m. and 11 a.m.–7 p.m., with the last entry at 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. respectively; closures for cleaning and seasonal schedule changes are possible. Overnight guests should check their booking information for the current shared-bath hours.
