Takaoka Onsen Yasuragi no Sato: Closure and 2027 Reopening Plan
Takaoka Onsen Yasuragi no Sato remains closed; Miyazaki City targets an early December 2027 reopening. Planned prices and facilities are not final.
Takaoka Onsen Yasuragi no Sato is not open for bathing. Miyazaki City still labels the former public facility as closed since fiscal 2022. A municipal project update dated March 17, 2026 names 3106 Kitchen Co., Ltd. as the transfer recipient and sets a target of reopening in early December 2027. That is a published target, not a confirmed opening date—and the planned ticket prices and facilities are not available for visitors to book today.
If an older map or travel page still shows the former ¥510 admission, a sauna or a bus route, treat those details as historical. Do not add the bathhouse to a 2026 itinerary or drive to the site expecting a public facility.
The current timeline
| Milestone | What the city currently says |
|---|---|
| Bathing service | Closed since fiscal 2022 |
| Transfer recipient | 3106 Kitchen Co., Ltd. |
| Scheduled ownership transfer | February 1, 2026 |
| Scheduled start of renovation | April 1, 2026 |
| Current reopening target | Early December 2027 |
These dates come from the city’s published project schedule. It describes the renovation and reopening as planned; it does not confirm a specific public opening day. The practical answer remains simple: there is no day-use bath here until the operator publishes a reopening announcement and a usable schedule.
What the redevelopment plan proposes
The business plan keeps bathing at the center of the project and sketches a broader stay than the former bathhouse offered. Proposed features include a sauna, cold bath, private family baths, an outdoor-air rest area, a shared reading lounge and a café.
| Proposed admission | Amount |
|---|---|
| Adult | ¥700 |
| Child | ¥500 |
| Visitor aged 60 or over | ¥600 |
Proposed hours are 11 a.m.–9 p.m.; these are planning figures, not a live price list.
These are planning figures, not a live price list:
| Proposed admission | Amount |
|---|---|
| Adult | ¥700 |
| Child | ¥500 |
| Visitor aged 60 or over | ¥600 |
Proposed hours are 11 a.m.–9 p.m. Final hours, admission, towel costs, private-bath booking rules, age policies and sauna fee can change before launch. The business plan does not establish a final hot-spring analysis or how each bath will be supplied and treated. Do not carry old source-water figures from the former facility over to renovated baths without a new analysis.
The same applies to transport. A former bus route or old parking note is not proof that the new operator will run the same access plan. Wait for current directions, last-entry time and any reservation system before building a trip around the site.
Where to bathe instead
For a bath that is open now in Miyazaki City, start with the city day-use onsen guide or the individual Tamayura no Yu guide. If a sauna is the priority, compare Gokurakuyu Miyazaki’s sauna setup rather than treating the proposed Takaoka rooms as available.
If your route already heads west, Saito and Koyu day-use baths and the Saitobaru–Tsuma Yu half-day route give you a different outing to plan around. These are alternatives by itinerary, not neighboring facilities to Takaoka.
For a coastal day, see the Aoshima day-use guide, the Aoshima airport-and-no-car comparison or the Aoshima sauna comparison. If you are heading inland toward Aya, Ayakawasou is a separate mountain-area option; check its own operating calendar and transport before setting out.
When to check again
There is little value in refreshing the project page every week while the target remains more than a year away. Recheck when the city or new operator publishes a firm opening day, then look for the final rates, bathing rules, current water analysis and access instructions together. Until those appear, use an open bath that fits the part of Miyazaki already on your route.
