Mimikawa no Yu at Misato Lakeland: A Lakeside Bath Stop in Miyazaki
Mimikawa no Yu at Misato Lakeland costs ¥520 and usually opens 10 a.m.–8 p.m.; check Tuesday and Wednesday closures and monthly notices.
Checked: September 27, 2026
At Misato Lakeland, the bath is one part of a much larger lakeside stop. Mimikawa no Yu looks out over the Mimi River basin and sits beside cottages, a restaurant and recreation areas. It works best when you are already driving through western Miyazaki and have time to stay awhile; it is not a quick detour from a central-city hotel.

The bathing area has separate indoor and outdoor baths for men and women, plus electric, bubble and jet baths. Shampoo, body soap and hair dryers are provided; towels are sold and bath towels are rented. The facility lists a sauna but does not give a temperature or session rule on its current bath page. Its electric bath uses low-frequency current, so try it gently and move away from the electrodes if the sensation is uncomfortable.

The published spring data for the facility identifies a sodium bicarbonate spring, with a reported temperature of 41.3°C, pH 8.3 and flow of 167.1 litres per minute. Those are spring figures, not a promise that every bath is supplied in the same way. The facility does not publish a full treatment breakdown for each pool, so there is no basis to call every bath pure flow-through.
Check notices, especially after a maintenance issue
The facility has had two disruptions this year. A Legionella finding led to the men’s outdoor bath being closed in late January; it reopened on February 14 after cleaning, a new water test and inspection by the public health office. A hot-water equipment fault then closed the complex on June 15; repairs were completed and it reopened on June 18. There is no newer closure notice on the operator’s current notices page, but the monthly calendar and same-day updates remain the useful check before a long drive.
More than a bath if you have half a day
The complex has 12 cottages, a restaurant, play equipment, walking paths, campsites and a dedicated overnight parking area. Its pool is seasonal and closed for the 2026 season on September 23, so do not count on it for an autumn visit. The restaurant serves lunch daily when open; dinner is limited to Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. The operator’s monthly calendar may show holiday or repair exceptions.
There is also a separate private sauna called järvi, beside the lake. It is a reservation-only product with its own time slots, capacity and fee; a ¥520 public-bath ticket does not include it. Check the operator’s sauna page if that is the main reason for your visit.
Misato’s other well-known bath, Nango Onsen Dontaro no Yu, is a different kind of stop, with its own spring profile and bathing setup.
