Yukyu-no-Hana in Gero: Choosing a Room with a Private Onsen

All six Yukyu-no-Hana rooms have a private Gero Onsen bath. Compare the indoor cypress bath, open-air suite and smaller Japanese-style room.

Checked: September 27, 2026

Yukyu-no-Hana has just six rooms, and every one includes a private bath with natural Gero hot-spring water. You do not need to book a premium category to get the spring in your room. What changes is the bath setting, the room layout and, for two rooms, the exact name used by the booking site.

The inn describes every room bath as 100% natural, free-flowing Gero Onsen available around the clock. Its spring page identifies the water as an alkaline simple spring with pH 9. The published room descriptions do not provide a full current analysis for each bath, so there is no basis here to assign a precise water temperature or other treatment details to every tub.

Indoor cypress or open air?

The two suite types have a similar footprint and both pair a Japanese sitting area with a separate wood-floor sleeping space. Choose the indoor cypress bath if you would rather not step outdoors in cold weather, rain or late at night. Pick the open-air suite if bathing outside is part of what you want from the room. Both categories sleep two to four guests; the bed setup varies, so check whether the listing offers twin beds or futons before paying.

The two 40-square-metre Japanese rooms are the smaller option, but they still come with an in-room hot spring. Their booking names can be less specific about whether the bath is indoors or outdoors. If the bath location is a firm preference, ask the inn to confirm the assigned room rather than relying on a generic “private hot-spring bath” label.

The inn describes the property as river-facing, but also warns that buildings may stand directly in front of some rooms. Treat “river side” as the orientation, not a guarantee of an unobstructed view. Look at recent room-specific photos if the outlook is part of your reason for choosing a suite.

Your private bath is at Yukyu-no-Hana; the public baths are next door

Yukyu-no-Hana itself has no public bath. Guests can cross the second-floor indoor passage to its sister property, Fugaku, for the shared baths and open-air bath. Those bathing floors are reached by stairs, with no elevator access. The hotel does not advertise fully barrier-free rooms, so ask about the exact route if stairs or thresholds are a concern.

Fugaku's separately bookable private bath is for Fugaku guests, not a Yukyu-no-Hana room benefit. In practice, guests at Yukyu-no-Hana already have a private hot-spring bath in their own room. The shared baths next door are an optional change of setting, not a requirement to get onsen access.

Breakfast and dinner are served in a private dining room, which may be inside Fugaku depending on your plan. Dinner seatings run from 5:30 to 7 p.m.; guests arriving after 7:30 p.m. may not be served dinner.

Yukyu-no-Hana has no front desk, so check in at the adjacent Fugaku reception. Six covered parking spaces are free. A station shuttle must be reserved in advance; the published pickup window is 2:30–7:30 p.m. Confirm the schedule for your arrival.
