Hinata no Yu at Shin-Osaka: Hours, Prices, Luggage and Tattoos
Hinata no Yu is a ninth-floor natural bath near Shin-Osaka; reception holds large bags, and tattoos are allowed only when fully sticker-covered.
Hinata no Yu makes sense as a stop before a Shinkansen, after checking out, or during a stay around Shin-Osaka. It is not inside the station: the bath occupies the ninth floor of Dolce Vita Shin-Osaka in the office district. The direct subway exit is very close, while the walk from the station’s wider shopping and business area takes longer. Leave enough time to change, bathe and get back to your platform.
Opening hours and entry cost
The bath opens Sunday through Friday at 6:00 a.m. and on Saturday at 8:00 a.m. It closes at 1:00 a.m., with last admission at midnight. Maintenance closures can occur, so check the facility’s notices if the visit is tied to a train departure.
| Admission | Price |
|---|---|
| Adult, weekdays | ¥880 |
| Adult, weekends and public holidays | ¥1,000 |
| Child aged 4 through elementary school | ¥400 |
| Child under 3 | Free |
| Face and bath towel rental set | ¥250 |
Shampoo, conditioner and body wash are provided. A weekday adult arriving without a towel can budget ¥1,130; the equivalent weekend total is ¥1,250. Payment options include cash, contactless credit cards and mobile payments.
A useful stop with bags, but not a luggage depot
The front desk says it can hold luggage that will not fit in a locker while the guest uses the bath. That is useful between a hotel checkout and a Shinkansen, though it should not be treated as a general left-luggage service: ask staff about an unusually large or valuable item, and collect it before leaving.
There is no nap room. Sofas and massage chairs are available in the rest area, but the facility does not offer a place to sleep through the night. If you need a proper overnight stay, book accommodation rather than relying on the lounge.
What is in the bath
The operator describes the natural spring, drawn from roughly 800 metres underground, as weakly alkaline, with a pH of 7.8. Many of the baths are outdoors, giving the ninth-floor location an open-sky feel. The facility also has carbonated and jet baths, a sauna and a cold plunge.
Published temperatures are about 40–41.5°C for several warm pools, around 85°C for the sauna and 17.5–18°C for the cold bath. These are bath settings, not the spring’s source temperature.
The branch was renovated in March 2026, adding café seating and improving the rest and powder-room areas. Do not expect every part of a long spa complex: this is a compact urban bath with a café and places to sit, not a hotel or an overnight lounge.
Tattoo cover rules
The facility generally refuses entry to guests with tattoos. Its current exception is specific: every visible tattoo must be completely covered with the facility’s own cover stickers. The large sticker measures 114 × 200 mm and costs ¥200; the small one is 114 × 114 mm and costs ¥150. If all marks cannot be covered, the exception does not apply. Ask at the front desk before buying, since the stickers cannot be returned once purchased.
Children who are not yet toilet-trained may not use the shared tubs. The operator’s guidance uses age six as the limit for mixed-gender bathing. Parking is not provided; nearby coin parking is paid. A few motorcycle spaces and a bicycle parking area are available.
