Kyomachi Onsen Day Trip: Which Bath Fits Your Schedule?

Kyoumachi Kanko Hotel is nearest the station, Jubei no Yu stays open later, and Gyokusenkan’s cave bath needs day-access confirmation.

Checked: September 27, 2026

Kyomachi Onsen works well as a deliberate stop on a southern Kyushu drive, or as a short rail-side soak if you plan around the train. The springs here are not one interchangeable product: one hotel offers the easiest station walk, a neighbouring bathhouse has the broadest public-bath setup, and Gyokusenkan’s cave bath is tied to an inn whose day-use terms are not currently posted.

Jubei no Yu, beside Jubei no Yado, suits a later soak. Day-use bathing runs 9 a.m.–11 p.m., with last reception at 10:30 p.m. The spring is sodium bicarbonate, sulfate and chloride; the bath area has indoor and outdoor pools plus a steam bath.

There is also a free footbath by the parking area. The current listing does not show a day-use fee, so confirm the admission price before going.

Gyokusenkan’s cave bath is not a walk-in promise

Gyokusenkan is only a two-minute walk from the station, which can make it look like the obvious quick stop. Its official bath page describes 24-hour source-fed indoor baths and the cave-style open-air bath for overnight guests, with shared-use periods through the evening. The inn does not currently publish a day-use price, outside-guest window or bath-access terms. Call +81 984-37-1550 before arranging a train around it. The dedicated Gyokusenkan guide explains what is confirmed for an overnight stay.

The Kyushu Onsen Road listing currently marks Akishige-yu as closed. Older directory entries still show its former hours and admission, but those are not an alternative for a 2026 itinerary. If you want a more certain stop, choose one of the operating facilities above and check its own day-use schedule.

Kyomachi-Onsen is an unattended station and trains can be roughly two hours apart at some times. Check both onward and return services before you set out; the bath hours do not make the train any more frequent. Drivers have more flexibility, with Ebino Interchange about five minutes away from the inn area.

For a single-bath alternative elsewhere in Ebino, see the Kakuto Onsen guide. If your trip is continuing to the Yoshida Onsen area, the Yoshida Onsen status guide separates current options from older listings.
