Konohana no Yu in Miyazaki: A 32.7°C Source Bath, Walking Pool and Sauna

Konohana no Yu has a 32.7°C source-water bath, heated pool, walking bath and sauna; its accessible bath requires a reservation and is not a family room.

Checked: September 28, 2026

If you are already heading toward Aoshima or the Kaeda Valley, this is an easy place to add a soak. It is less convenient as a spontaneous stop from Miyazaki Station: the centre is roughly a 20-minute drive away, and the 200-space car park makes clear that this is a car-friendly rather than station-side bath.

The source bath is the reason to come

The facility uses two pools differently. The larger bath receives the spring after it has been heated; the separate source bath keeps the water at its listed natural temperature of 32.7°C. That is a noticeably different proposition from a conventional hot pool, and useful if you prefer cooler water or want to alternate between the two.

The city describes the spring as a sodium-chloride and bicarbonate hot spring, rising from about 750 metres underground. A 2019 analysis recorded 32.5°C, pH 8.22 in the laboratory and a flow rate of 221.6 litres per minute. The city’s current facility page lists the source bath at 32.7°C. These are measurements from different contexts, not grounds to call every pool 32.7°C.

The larger pool is described as source-fed and heated. “Flowing spring” does not mean unheated: the operator specifically says it warms the source water before it enters that bath. The exact bathing temperature of the larger pool is not published.

What else is in the bath area?

There is a walking bath with a depth of one metre, plus separate saunas. The official city page lists a steam sauna for men and a dry sauna for women. The operator’s own facility page currently shows the opposite assignment. If a particular sauna type is the reason for your visit, call ahead rather than assuming one page has replaced the other.

The centre also has an accessible welfare bath, but it is not a bookable family bath. It requires advance reservation. This distinction matters for couples or families who want to bathe together: the facility does not advertise a private family room.

This is a straightforward choice for drivers combining the bath with Aoshima, the sports park or a walk in Kaeda Valley. If you are staying near Miyazaki Station and want a late bath with a more complete sauna circuit, Gokurakuyu Miyazaki’s sauna and spring guide covers the closer option.
