Kannogo Onsen in Kobayashi: Current Status and Alternatives

Kobayashi City’s May 2026 list omits Kannogo Onsen and gives no reopening details; compare nearby Bijin-no-yu and Kajika-no-yu instead.

Checked: September 27, 2026

Old listings still describe Kannogo as a large natural-spring complex with outdoor baths, sauna and private rooms. Those details explain its former appeal, but they are not evidence that the facility is currently accepting visitors. Kobayashi City’s current list of baths, updated May 8, 2026, names several operating facilities and leaves Kannogo out. Treat it as unavailable unless the operator or city publishes a reopening notice.

For an easy soak near Kobayashi City: Bijin-no-yu

Bijin-no-yu is listed by the city as a natural-flowing hot spring. Its public bath is open 11 am–9 pm, with an adult entry price of ¥550 for visitors aged 13 and older. The regular closure is the fourth Monday of the month. The operator publishes its own monthly closure notices, so check the date before travelling.

The property also has a separate family-bath facility, but its availability and price are not part of public-bath admission. If you need a private room, check the operator’s current booking terms rather than turning the public bath’s opening hours into a family-bath promise.

For sauna and a wooded setting: Kajika-no-yu

Kajika-no-yu is in the Suki district, farther from central Kobayashi. The city lists it open 10 am–9 pm, with a regular closure on the second and fourth Thursday, and adult admission at ¥500. It pairs a bath with sauna and an outdoor rest area facing the surrounding greenery.

The facility temporarily stopped service after Legionella bacteria exceeded the standard. Following inspection and cleaning, the public health centre’s reinspection confirmed safety, and the city says the bath reopened on April 29, 2026. Check the current notice and bus schedule before making the trip; the Suki location takes more planning than Bijin-no-yu.

What to do with old Kannogo information

Treat old prices, hours and equipment lists as historical. The city’s current facilities page says prices and operating information can change and directs visitors to confirm with each property. Until Kannogo appears in an up-to-date operator or municipal listing, it is not a dependable itinerary stop; do not drive there on the strength of a map pin or an old booking page.

For a closer look at the two current choices, read the Bijin-no-yu public-bath and family-bath guide and the Kajika-no-yu guide. Their settings and facilities solve different needs, so choose based on location and whether sauna time matters.
