Asahi-yu Gensen Yuiru: Kawasaki’s Sauna-and-Onsen Day Spa

Plan a visit to Asahi-yu Gensen Yuiru in Kawasaki: compare its two sauna styles, deep cold plunge, natural saline spring, ticket options and age rule.

Yuiru suits people who want the sauna to be part of the plan, not an extra room to try once. Both bathing areas have a medium-temperature and a high-temperature sauna. The high-temperature room uses automatic löyly, while scheduled aufguss sessions add a towel-led heat ritual. Afterward, the cold plunge reaches about 150 cm at its deepest point and is listed at around 13°C. You can skip it; it is a deep pool, not a dare.

There is a natural spring here, too

Yuiru draws its spring from roughly 1,200 metres underground. The facility classifies it as an iodine-bearing sodium-chloride strong-saline spring. Water colour can vary, and the facility notes that heating and filtration are used to keep the spring at a suitable bathing temperature. That detail matters if you are specifically comparing water treatment rather than choosing by mineral type alone.

For a spring-first visit with a quieter, rock-and-timber setting, consider Shiraku no Yu. Yuiru’s appeal is the combination of that saline water with its sauna programme and plunge pool.

Allow time for the ticket you choose

Yuiru sells time-based entry rather than a simple bath-only ticket. Current options include a weekday one-hour course, two-hour courses, a women-only three-hour option, five-hour admission and an unlimited-time ticket; towel sets are included with the listed courses. Prices differ between weekdays and weekends, and a separate bathing tax applies to several adult plans. Check the official price table for the exact course available on your date.

The facility is open from 11 a.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. on weekends and public holidays, closing at midnight. Bathing ends at 11:40 p.m. The last admission time varies by course and day, so do not assume you can arrive late and use every hour printed on a ticket.

Who can enter, and how to get there

Children under elementary-school age are not admitted. Elementary-school students have access only to the five-hour or unlimited-time plans listed for children. If you are travelling with younger children, Chitose Onsen has a less restrictive family setup.

From Kawasaki Station’s east exit, take Rinko Bus route Kawasaki 24 toward the Kokan loop and get off at Rinko Junior High School. The bus ride is part of the journey; Yuiru is not a station-front bathhouse. A free shuttle may also be available, but its operation can change, so check the current access notice before planning around it.

The sauna and relaxation facilities at Asahi-yu Gensen Yuiru

Yuiru’s general admission rules refuse guests with tattoos, henna or tattoo stickers. The facility sometimes lists date- and time-specific exceptions; those do not change the normal rule. Read the current conditions in our Yuiru tattoo policy guide and confirm the event page before travelling.
