Mizonokuchi Onsen Kirari: A Kawasaki Day Spa for Adults
Mizonokuchi Onsen Kirari has source-flow outdoor water, two saunas and an optional bedrock bath. Check adult-only entry rules, prices and bus access.
Kirari works best when you want more than a quick bath but do not need a resort-style spa. The standard admission includes the hot-spring baths, high-temperature sauna, salt sauna, cold bath and rest areas. Bedrock bathing is a separate ¥550 add-on, so you can decide after checking how much time you have.
The outdoor baths have different water systems
The spring is a sodium-bicarbonate hot spring. In the outdoor area, the upper bath, Ue no Yu, is the facility’s source-flow pool. The larger lower rock bath is slightly cooler and uses heated, recirculated spring water. Both use the local natural spring, but only the upper pool is identified as kakenagashi.
Indoors, the bathing area adds a high-temperature sauna, a salt sauna and a cold bath. There are also carbonated-spring, silky and jet baths. The carbonated pool combines the spring with carbon dioxide; it is not a naturally carbonated spring.
When the bedrock bath is worth adding
Bedrock bathing is an open-time option, not a short timed session. The fee includes its clothing and a large towel.
| Bedrock-bath detail | Current terms |
|---|---|
| Regular add-on | ¥550 |
| Weekday add-on after 9 p.m. | ¥400 |
| Use window | 9:30 a.m.–11 p.m. |
| Room closes | 11 p.m. |
| Cleaning and equipment checks | Guests leave briefly at noon, 3, 6 and 9 p.m. |
For a two-hour visit built around the spring and sauna, the regular ticket is enough. The extra makes more sense if you plan to rotate between the baths, the bedrock room and the rest area over several hours.
| Example weekday cost | Amount |
|---|---|
| Basic admission | ¥1,080 |
| Basic admission plus regular bedrock option | ¥1,630 before optional towel rentals |
After 9 p.m., the bedrock add-on has a weekday discount; last reception is 10:30 p.m. A late visit only works if your bus arrives with enough time to use it.
Prices, age limit and bus access

Kirari is for guests in junior high school and older; younger children cannot enter. Tattoos, tattoo stickers and intoxication are also grounds for refusal. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash are provided, but towels are not included in the standard entry fee. Special-rate days may change the listed admission price.
From Mizonokuchi Station’s south exit, take Tokyu Bus service 5 toward Kani-ga-ya and get off at Tachibana Elementary School, beside the facility. Drivers have access to a free car park with 170 spaces. Opening hours are 9 a.m. to midnight, with last admission at 11:30 p.m.; the bedrock area has its own earlier closing time.
Kirari’s age rule makes it a poor fit for a family with younger children. For a lower-cost bath where children can enter, see Chitose Onsen; the Kawasaki family onsen guide compares the facilities’ age and diaper restrictions.
Two practical limits are easy to miss: phones and other electronic devices are not allowed in the bathing, changing or bedrock rooms; wheelchairs can be used as far as the changing room, but not inside the bathing area. Contact the facility before visiting if either rule affects your party. The rest area has reclining seats, including a women-only section, but stocks magazines rather than comics.
