Maihama Eurasia After Its 2026 Renewal: Onsen, SPA+ and Late-Night Fees
Plan Maihama Eurasia after its 2026 renovation: compare SPA, SPA+, morning bathing and the ¥2,000 late-night fee, with spring, sauna, tattoo and age rules.
Updated September 2026
Maihama Eurasia reopened its spa after a full renovation on January 15, 2026. The update added a large co-ed floor called SPA+, while the natural spring and gender-separated baths remain at the heart of a regular visit.
Choose based on how you will use the building: a standard bath and sauna visit, the shared heat rooms and stone baths, an early-morning soak, or a late stay that runs past 1 a.m.
The main spring, Kinsen (“Golden Bath”), comes from about 1,700 metres below ground. It is a fossil-seawater spring classified as a highly saline iodide-sodium-chloride hot spring. The open-air Kinsen bath is the source-fed bath; other tubs use different water treatments, so the whole bathing area should not be described as uninterrupted source flow.
What the admission options cover
| Visit | Adult price listed | Best fit |
|---|---|---|
| Standard SPA | ¥2,100 weekdays; ¥2,600 weekends and holidays | Onsen, gender-separated baths and their saunas |
| SPA + SPA+ on a weekday | ¥2,800 combined | A longer visit with the co-ed sauna, stone baths and lounge |
| SPA+ add-on | ¥950 | Add the shared floor to standard admission |
| Morning bath | ¥1,200 weekdays; ¥1,500 weekends and holidays | A short visit between 5 and 9 a.m. |
| After 1 a.m. | ¥2,000 late-night surcharge | Staying in the building overnight |
Standard SPA admission includes a bath towel and a face towel. On weekends, adding SPA+ to the standard ticket comes to ¥3,550 at the listed prices. Admission rates and special-day terms can change, so check the facility’s current price and opening-hours page before setting a budget.
For a solo visit centred on the spring and sauna, the regular ticket already covers the main event. The extra floor is most useful when you are with a partner or friends and want time together after the gender-separated baths. SPA+ requires its supplied bathing wear; it is not a co-ed bathing pool.
The renovation’s new shared floor
SPA+ is on the fifth floor. Its headline attraction, Grand View Sauna, is a mixed-gender sauna with a stated capacity of about 70 people and views across the Maihama area. The floor also has several heat rooms, stone baths, a foot bath, cooling and outdoor-air rest areas, plus a relaxation room.
Most of the active heat facilities are scheduled for 11 a.m. to midnight. Parts of the open space pause from 1 to 5 a.m., while the relaxation room can remain available overnight. That overnight access does not mean every sauna or bath runs through the night.
The fourth-floor public baths and saunas close for cleaning from 1 to 5 a.m. The morning-bath period begins at 5 a.m. and ends at 9 a.m., with last admission at 8. If you stay after 1, plan on resting rather than returning to Kinsen in the middle of the night.
The original baths still matter
The 2026 work did not turn the standard ticket into a bare-bones option. Men’s and women’s bathing areas retain the Kelo sauna and other gender-specific sauna rooms, along with cold baths and the spring-fed outdoor bath. The sauna temperatures and layouts differ by side, so check the facility’s men’s and women’s pages if a particular room matters to your visit.
Some indoor and outdoor tubs use spring water at a stated 50% concentration; the carbonated bath is a separate treatment. The distinction is useful if you are comparing facilities specifically for source-fed bathing. Maihama Eurasia does have a natural spring-fed bath, but not every tub has the same water or supply method.
A late stay costs more than the headline ticket
The ¥2,000 surcharge applies if you remain after 1 a.m. On a weekday, standard SPA admission plus that fee comes to ¥4,100 before any SPA+ add-on.
It can work when you need somewhere to rest between a late event and an early departure. It is less attractive as a hotel substitute if you need privacy or uninterrupted sleep.
Children under three cannot use the fourth-floor SPA or the fifth-floor SPA+ itself, though designated free and kids’ spaces are available. Children below junior-high-school age cannot use the main sauna and stone-bath zones on SPA+. Minors staying late need a guardian, and children under three cannot use the late-night stay option. Confirm the exact age rules against the current spa terms before travelling as a family.
The tattoo policy is specific: tattoos must be fully covered with up to four stickers sold at the spa counter, each measuring 10 by 15 cm. Bringing your own cover stickers is not accepted, and larger tattoos that cannot be covered within that limit are not allowed. The facility’s terms are the final word on entry.
Children under three are not simply free bathers: they cannot use the fourth-floor SPA or SPA+ itself, though designated free and kids’ spaces are available. Guests below junior-high-school age cannot use SPA+’s sauna and stone-bath zones. That distinction matters to family budgets; a ticket does not grant every child access to every floor.
Getting there and leaving the car
A free shuttle runs from the south exit of JR Maihama Station; the ride takes about seven minutes. It operates to a fixed schedule and has limited capacity, so leave time for the next bus if one is full. Check the current access information before relying on it for a tight connection.
Spa visitors receive six hours of free parking. After that, the listed charge is ¥200 per 30 minutes. A long visit or overnight stay can therefore add a meaningful amount to the total.
If you are comparing the two long-stay styles nearby, Yuneru at Shin-Narashino has manga, a bedrock-bath plan and separate overnight cabins. Maihama Eurasia is the better fit when the natural spring and the newly renovated co-ed sauna floor are the point of the outing.
