Siebold no Yu in Ureshino: Hours, Prices and What to Know
Plan a visit to Siebold no Yu in Ureshino with current public-bath hours, admission, private-room terms, parking and access from Ureshino-Onsen Station.
Siebold no Yu is Ureshino’s municipal public bath, set in a distinctive orange-roofed building across from Ureshino Onsen Park. Its early opening and modest admission make it a practical stop for visitors staying in the old hot-spring district. Just remember that Ureshino-Onsen Station is not next door: the final leg into town is by bus, taxi or another local transfer.
Current public-bath details
The city lists opening hours as 6 a.m.–10 p.m., with entry limited after 9:30 p.m. The regular closing day is the third Wednesday of each month; when that Wednesday is a public holiday, the closure shifts to the following day.
The current posted admission is ¥450 for adults, ¥220 for elementary-school children, and ¥340 for visitors aged 70 or over. Preschool children enter free when accompanied by a guardian. The city’s page also lists discounted rates for eligible visitors with disabilities; check the official table if that applies to your visit.
Bring a towel. The city asks visitors to bring their own, and the tourism association says towels are not rented, though amenities are sold. A public-bath visit includes access to the large bath; it does not include a private room.
Private rooms are a separate booking
Private baths are listed at ¥2,500 per room for 50 minutes, plus a ¥100 bathing tax per adult. The published capacity is up to five adults. The city notes that a session may be extended to 75 minutes when accompanying someone who needs nursing or care assistance; confirm the arrangement with the facility before relying on that longer slot.
The tourism association currently lists the accessible room Fuji, Himawari and Sakura as available, while its notice still says the hinoki rooms Rindou and Sazanka are suspended for renovation scheduled around September 2026. That date has now passed, but the page does not confirm that the two rooms have reopened. If you want a particular room, call before travelling rather than assuming its status from the old notice.
Getting there and parking
From Ureshino-Onsen Station, the city gives the drive as about five minutes. Local buses serve the older hot-spring district; the Ureshino Bus Center is about a seven-minute walk from the bath. The adjacent parking area is not simply free all day. The first 90 minutes are free.
After that, the published rate is ¥100 for each additional 30 minutes, with a ¥500 maximum per 24 hours.
The city says the first 90 minutes are applied automatically, without presenting a ticket at the bath counter.
Roof and exterior repairs are scheduled from August 27 to December 15, 2026. The city says the bath remains open as usual during the work. The accessible parking space by the entrance is unavailable, construction vehicles use the surrounding area, and visitors are asked to keep bath windows closed. If step-free parking is essential, confirm the current arrangement directly.
What the facility pages do—and do not—say
The city identifies the bath’s spring as sodium bicarbonate–chloride water. Its published visitor pages do not give a current facility-specific source temperature, pool temperature or pH. Ureshino’s regional spring figures should not be substituted for those missing measurements. The pages checked here describe the public bath and private rooms, but do not list an outdoor bath; if an open-air pool is important, choose a facility whose current listing clearly confirms one.
