Kakeinoyu at HANA・BIYORI: Tokyo Views, a Black Spring and a Weeknight Pass
Plan a Kakeinoyu visit with weekday admission from ¥2,000, the ¥1,500 late pass, HANA・BIYORI access and the rules on tattoos and young children.
Kakeinoyu works best when you treat it as an outing, not a quick bath. The outdoor pools sit on a wooded ridge about 100 metres above sea level, with the city skyline opening up beyond the trees. Your admission also covers the HANA・BIYORI garden area while it is open, so an afternoon visit can stretch naturally into the evening.
Choose the ticket around your arrival time
| Ticket | Weekday | Weekend or holiday | What it includes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Walk-up admission | Adult ¥2,300 | Adult ¥2,800 | Robe, bath towel, hand towel and HANA・BIYORI garden admission |
| YomiLan CLUB online admission | Adult ¥2,000 | Adult ¥2,500 | Same standard admission |
| Special night ticket, entry from 8 p.m. | Adult ¥1,500; elementary-school child ¥900 | Not offered | Towels and in-house clothing |
The night ticket resumed on 31 August 2026. It is sold on eligible weekdays, excluding holidays and designated busy periods such as school breaks and year-end holidays. Check the calendar before relying on that rate.
The bath is open 10 a.m.–11 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m.–11 p.m. on weekends and holidays; last entry is 10 p.m. An 8 p.m. arrival leaves time to bathe, while a 10 p.m. arrival leaves little time before closing.
The spring and the view are the reason to come
Kakeinoyu draws natural hot-spring water from a depth of about 1,750 metres. Its spring is a weakly alkaline sodium-bicarbonate and chloride spring, with a reported source temperature of 43.8°C. The open-air baths look over the green Tama hills and central Tokyo buildings; the scene changes noticeably after dark.
The bathing floors are separated by gender. Couples and mixed groups can share the paid “Kagamahō” stone-sauna area instead, which has a lounge and outdoor-rest space; it is an add-on, not part of the standard admission. That is the useful distinction for a date: you can share the garden, restaurant and stone-sauna area, but not the public baths themselves. Elementary-age children cannot use the sauna or stone-sauna rooms.
Check the entry rules before setting out
Kakeinoyu does not admit guests with tattoos or body art, including paint and stickers. Infants and preschool children are also not admitted. Elementary-school children need a same-gender guardian to enter and bathe; they cannot come or bathe alone. These are firm planning constraints, not details to sort out at the door.
The easiest rail approach is Keio Yomiuri-land Station. From there, the venue is about a 10-minute walk, or you can use the free shuttle bus, which runs roughly every ten minutes and takes two to three minutes. A second free shuttle now runs from Shin-Yurigaoka Station about once an hour; the trip takes around 15–20 minutes and seats are limited. Check the day’s timetable before relying on either bus.
For a daytime visit, arrive early enough to see the garden before it closes and then catch the transition to the night view. If you only want a bath, a lower-cost city sento may suit you better. Check the official calendar for closure days and special operating hours before making the trip.
