Shusse-yu Near Teradacho: A Late-Closing Osaka Sento
Shusse-yu is a five-minute walk from Teradacho Station and closes at 12:30 a.m.; check the unpublished sauna fee before a late visit.
The late closing time is what separates Shusse-yu from many local baths around Teradacho. Its neighbour Minami Ikuno Onsen closes at 11:30 p.m.; Shusse-yu’s listed hours extend an hour later, which gives you more breathing room after an evening meal. It is still a sento, not a hotel or an overnight lounge.
Hours, fare and arrival time
The current association listing gives hours of 2 p.m.–12:30 a.m., with irregular closing days described as “almost year-round.” JR Teradacho Station is about a five-minute walk away, though other listings put the walk at seven or eight minutes; allow five to ten. There are four parking spaces, plus paid coin parking nearby.
Adult public-bath admission in Osaka is currently ¥600; the association lists ¥200 for elementary-school children and ¥100 for preschool-age children.
Shusse-yu does not publish a separate sauna surcharge on its current listing, so ask before using it if you need to keep the total exact. The bath closes at 12:30 a.m.; arrive earlier if you want time to wash, soak and use the sauna rather than treating that as a last-entry promise.
A neighbourhood bathhouse, not a destination spa
The association lists soft-water showers, a large television in the bathing area, small sweets and draft beer after a bath. Local coverage says softened water runs through the baths, showers and taps, not only the showerheads. The facility also has a traditional Finnish-style dry sauna, cold bath and outdoor bath.
The current association listing does not state a separate sauna fee. Recent facility information mentions towel rental; check its price at the counter. This is a neighbourhood bathhouse with a simple bath-and-sauna routine, not a large spa or landscaped resort garden.
Shusse-yu is listed as a runners’ sento, which can be useful if you are jogging nearby and need a place to change or leave a small bag while running. That designation does not mean it accepts large suitcases or all-day baggage; use a hotel or station locker for travel luggage. The bathhouse also has sweets and draft beer, a small everyday detail that fits its local rather than sightseeing-spa character. No spring analysis is listed, and softened water is not evidence of a natural source.
If you are in the area earlier and want both dry and steam saunas, compare Minami Ikuno Onsen. For other local options, the Ikuno sento guide maps the wider ward.
