Kashihara Pokapoka Onsen: Late-Night Baths, Prices and Access

Kashihara Pokapoka Onsen stays open until 1 a.m. See weekday and holiday prices, the fourth-Monday closure and which parking lot shuts at midnight.

Kashihara Pokapoka Onsen is a useful late stop after time in Kashihara or Asuka. It is a large day-use bath rather than a station-front sento: Kintetsu Ukiana Station is about a ten-minute walk away, and the venue has free parking for 200 cars. The late closing time is handy, but drivers should note that 70 of those spaces are in a lot that locks at midnight.

The regular closing day is the fourth Monday of each month. The operator says additional closures can occur for equipment inspections, so check its notices if you are travelling specifically for a late soak.

The first car park has 130 spaces and the second has 70; both are free, but the second closes at midnight. The main facility stays open for another hour, so do not leave your car in the second lot if you expect to stay until closing. Towels can be brought from home or bought or rented on site. Shampoo and body wash are provided.

A long menu of baths, with one spring caveat

The facility lists an outdoor natural-spring bath, indoor pools, a carbonated spring bath, a pot bath, a herbal steam bath, jet and electric baths, a cold bath and a stadium-style sauna. It also has a rest area, a nap room, manga, a restaurant and body-care services. Those extras make it possible to stay beyond a quick wash and soak; restaurant and service hours are separate from bath hours.

The operator describes its outdoor spring as a sodium-calcium chloride hot spring and says it is used in the carbonated spring bath as well. Its public pages do not identify a tub as free-flowing or spell out water treatment separately for each pool. If source-flowing water is essential to your choice, confirm the exact bath with the operator rather than assuming that “natural spring” means every pool is supplied the same way.

The spring profile lists a depth of more than 1,000 metres but no reliable source-water temperature. The carbonated bath uses natural spring water with added CO₂; it is not naturally carbonated. The cold plunge uses treated water, and the herbal pot bath is steam rather than spring water.

The facility lists its Stadium Sauna, but a February 2026 notice reported a fault with the men’s sauna door and reduced-temperature operation. No repair notice was listed by September 8, 2026; that does not prove the fault remains. Contact the facility if the men’s sauna is essential to your visit.

Tattoos are not permitted, including sticker tattoos. The current rules do not describe a cover-sticker exception, so do not plan on entering with a tattoo covered.

Towels can be rented or bought. Shampoo, body wash and hair dryers are provided. The restaurant serves 11 a.m.–3 p.m. (last order 2:30 p.m.) and 5:30–10 p.m. (last order 9:30 p.m.), with a gap between lunch and dinner. Rest areas, manga, charging and paid massage make a longer visit easier to fill than a quick soak.

The easiest approach is from Ukiana Station

Kashihara Pokapoka Onsen is at 210-1 Shindocho, Kashihara. The operator gives the walk from Kintetsu Minami-Osaka Line’s Ukiana Station as about ten minutes. Check your train back before settling in for a visit close to 1 a.m.; the bath’s closing time does not extend the railway timetable.

If your route already includes central Kashihara or Asuka, this can be an easy evening finish. It is less convenient as an add-on to a Nara Park day, which is farther north.
