Takinoya Bekkan Tamanoyu: A Small Noboribetsu Inn with a Bookable Private Bath

Tamanoyu is a focused alternative to Noboribetsu’s large resort hotels. The appeal is a smaller inn, a sulfur-spring bath and the option to book private bathing for a set time. It is less suitable if you want many spring types, extensive hotel facilities or a private natural onsen attached to your room.

The private bath is a separate facility, not a room feature

The inn’s room page lists 24 Japanese-style rooms: 21 one-room layouts of 10 tatami mats for one to five guests, and three two-room layouts of 16 tatami mats for up to six. The room page does not list an in-room natural hot-spring bath. The bookable family bath is a separate facility, so check the room plan and bath reservation independently.

The official onsen page lists the family bath between 2 p.m. and 11:50 p.m. A 2023 notice from the inn gives a 50-minute session for ¥2,750. Because that price notice is not recent, confirm the current fee, availability and booking procedure with the property before relying on it.

The public baths use sulfur spring water, with separate bathing areas for men and women. Published hours are 2 p.m.–midnight and 5–9:30 a.m. The official page describes the water as cloudy and sulfurous; the inn is not a multi-spring complex, so choose it for this style of bath rather than for a long circuit of different waters.

A central location with a traditional inn setup

Tamanoyu describes itself as being near the centre of the hot-spring town. Its room page confirms the 24-room scale and check-in from 2 p.m., with final check-in at 8 p.m. If you are booking dinner, ask the inn what happens if you arrive late; the final check-in time alone does not confirm that a meal can still be served.

Who should consider it?

Tamanoyu is a good match for two people who want a smaller Japanese-style inn and would value one private bathing session. A family can use the larger room layouts, but one timed private bath may feel rushed if everyone needs to wash and bathe there; the public baths remain a separate option.
