Hotel Marumatsu Day Bath in Sakihana: Hours, Bath Rotation and What ¥700 Means
Marumatsu is listed at ¥700 and 10 a.m.–3 p.m., but day-use is irregular; call ahead and note 24-hour bathing is for overnight guests.
Hotel Marumatsu is easy to misread online. The hotel says its baths are open around the clock except during cleaning, while the day-use listing gives a much narrower window. Those are two different offers: the all-day access is for staying guests; ordinary visitors need to confirm whether the inn is taking day bathers.
Day-use price and hours: treat them as a reference
Gosen Tourism’s current Sakihana listing gives Marumatsu a ¥700 adult day-bath rate and a 10 am–3 pm window. Its individual hotel page and FAQ emphasize that day bathing is irregular and ask visitors to contact the inn first; the hotel’s own site does not clearly restate the ¥700 price. Confirm both the current admission fee and whether day use is open before setting out.
The hotel’s bath page describes its water as natural hot spring water used on a 100% flow-through basis. It lists two bathing areas: Shoki-no-Yu, with an indoor bath and a stone outdoor bath, and Hana-no-Yu, which has an indoor bath only. The sides switch between men’s and women’s use without a fixed schedule. Ask which bath will be assigned if the outdoor pool matters to you.
Why “24 hours” does not mean 24-hour day admission
The hotel’s all-day bathing schedule is for overnight guests and excludes cleaning. It is not permission for day visitors to arrive at any hour. For a day trip, the practical planning window is the locally listed 10 am–3 pm, subject to the inn’s confirmation.
That distinction matters if you are arriving late. At 3 pm, the listed window is already ending, so do not treat it as a safe arrival time. For options after 3 pm, see the Sakihana late-arrival guide or, for visits after 5 pm, the evening day-bath guide.
Getting there
Marumatsu is about a three-minute walk from JR Sakihana Station, and the hotel also lists complimentary station pickup for overnight guests. Day visitors should not assume a pickup is included; the station walk is short, but the return train still needs checking. The hotel notes that it accepts cash only, which is worth knowing if you are booking a stay or arranging other paid services there.
