Yasumaru no Yu: A Local Onsen Bath in Mikawa

There is also a dry sauna, a small cafe and a local-produce shop, giving the visit a distinctly neighborhood feel.

Yasumaru’s own price page still shows older, lower rates, so do not use that stale price table to budget your visit.

Hours differ between sources: the operator lists 10 a.m.–10 p.m. and Friday closure, while the bath association directory currently posts 9:30 a.m.–9:30 p.m. If you are planning an evening visit, check with the bath before setting out and leave a margin before closing.

The operator lists a dry sauna at no additional charge. Its published information does not give dependable current figures for sauna temperature or capacity, so expect a local bathhouse setup rather than a large sauna complex. The pages also do not provide complete operating details for each tub.

A separate spring from Motoyu Honda

Yasumaru no Yu identifies its source as Mikawa Onsen No. 1. The operator classifies it as a sodium chloride spring, weakly alkaline and high-temperature, and notes its coffee-coloured appearance. The facility does not currently publish a dated spring analysis with a source temperature or flow rate, so older figures should not be treated as current measurements.

Motoyu Honda is nearby and also has dark water, but it uses its own underground spring and is described as a moor spring. The two baths are not interchangeable just because their water looks similar. There is also a practical difference for privacy: Honda’s family bath is temporarily closed according to Hakusan City tourism. Yasumaru’s published day-use information focuses on the gender-separated public bath, not a private day-use session.

Walk from Mikawa Station

Yasumaru no Yu is about 1.1 kilometres from Mikawa Station, roughly a 13-minute walk. The station is now on IR Ishikawa Railway; older guides may still call it a JR Hokuriku Main Line station. The current adult fare from Kanazawa to Mikawa is ¥370. The bath association lists parking across the street from the building if you are driving.

Wash products and towels are available for purchase on the operator’s page, but the listed site has not been updated consistently across all its price information. Bring a small wash kit rather than relying on the old page’s prices.
