Misasa Onsen, Tottori
Misasa Onsen Kabuyu Public Bath
A low-cost, local public bath for visitors who want to try Misasa's original hot spring and do not mind a simple setup or a notably hot soak. It is not a multi-pool spa, and the current official pages do not confirm a tattoo rule. Bring your own towel and toiletries, and check the latest notice before travelling.
Check before bathing
- Opening hours
- Adults ¥400; children ¥250. Usually 08:00–21:45, last reception 21:15. On Mondays, opening is delayed until 10:00. Check the latest official notice for temporary changes.
- Tattoo policy
- No clear current tattoo admission rule was found on the official pages. Confirm with the operator before visiting.
Spring & water temperature
- Spring-source temperature
- 51.0°C in a transcription of the 2026 on-site analysis display; the current Misasa tourism site does not publish the full analysis sheet.
- Bathing temperature
- No fixed temperature is published. Recent visitor reports describe about 44–45°C, but that is an experience reference, not a fixed setting.
- Spring source
- Kabuyu mixed spring.
- Spring classification
- Simple, mildly radioactive spring, according to a transcription of the 2026 on-site analysis display.
- pH
- 7.2 in the 2026 on-site analysis transcription; not listed numerically on the current official page.
- Flow rate
- Not published.
- Water handling
- Current official pages do not specify dilution, heating, circulation or disinfection. Older local tourism material and 2026 field records describe source-flowing water, but this is not a current official guarantee of a completely untreated supply.
The water can be hot. Start with a short soak and pour water over yourself first. Bring a towel and toiletries; check return bus times if travelling without a car.
How to read a bath profile
Spring-source temperature and actual bathing temperature are kept separate. Each score is shown independently for comparison rather than collapsed into one overall score.
